About People For Animals Public Policy Foundation

People For Animals Public Policy Foundation (PFA-PPF) is the legal and policy wing of the parent organization of People for Animals, which is one of India’s largest animal welfare organizations led by Smt. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi. PFA-PPF was founded by Smt. Gauri Maulekhi, an accomplished animal rights activist, and Trustee of People for Animals and several other chapters.

PFA-PPF was established with the objective of impacting the lives of animals in India by being a part of policy reform and setting up systems which are sustainable and humane. Under the able leadership of Smt. Gauri Maulekhi, the organization’s work is primarily focused on policy reform and capacity building.

PFA-PPF organizes capacity building and training workshops for civil servants, such as Judges, and Police Officers, Municipal Corporations, etc to help them better understand the practical aspects and creating low cost models which are effective and sustainable as well as humane in their approach for treatment of animals.

In the past, PFA-PPF has supported, organized, and run several campaigns centred around animal welfare law to spread awareness.

PFA-PPF’s ultimate aim is to become a greater part of the community and continuing to partner and work with leaders of animal welfare to create a cruelty free environment.
